Small Skoda Kamiq SUV gets racy Monte Carlo Trim level at Frankfurt Motor Show

Skoda has extended sporty Monte Carlo trim level to the new Kamiq crossover – the smallest SUV the brand offers and its rival for the Volkswagen T-Roc, Nissan Juke and Kia Stonic.

Arriving in time to be presented at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the recipe for the Kamiq Monte Carlo is unchanged from other Monte Carlo badged Skoda SUVs. That means it ranks as the range-topping trim level, and it gains a subtle, sporty makeover inside and out.

Full LED headlights are equipped, while the Kamiq Monte Carlo gains a gloss black frame surrounding the grille, gloss black detailing on the front bumper, wing mirror caps, roof rails, side skirts and the Skoda lettering on the tailgate turns black too.

Tinted side windows and a panoramic roof appear as standard, and around the back a new gloss black rear diffuser is joined by full LED taillights. The look is rounded off with a set of Monte Carlo design alloy wheels in black and silver, sized 17-inches. 18-inch versions of the wheels are optional.

Inside, the Kamiq Monte Carlo gains height adjustable sports seats for the driver and front passenger. The sports steering wheel is upholstered in perforated leather, while red accents wind around the cabin. The LED ambient lighting system is also red, while the air vents on the dashboard are finished in chrome. Aluminium sports pedals complete the look.

Skoda has confirmed that the Kamiq Monte Carlo trim will be offered with all of the Kamiq’s engines. Petrol options include a pair of turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinders, with either 94bhp or 113bhp, and turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder, with 148bhp. The single diesel option is a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Sales will commence by the end of 2019.
